In a manger, in a stable, sweetened with a bed of hay,
lay a tiny, new-born baby, come to rest that very day.
Tiny fingers, reaching upward, touching all who sought The Way;
Stretching forth to needy shepherds, gazing on Him where He lay.
Years would pass while He grew older, filled with love for all mankind;
Knowing all were lost without Him; wanting no one left behind.
Always reaching out to touch them, broken hearts and sinful souls;
All who came to Him, He healed; Forgiving the needy, made them whole.
One day, from a cross of wood, sacred hands reached out again; Loving, pleading, suffering, bleeding; dying for the sins of men.
There is not much told about His youth, except that He lived in a house, which is where the visit from the Magi actually took place. He was probably about two at the time. He grew up with His mother Mary. It seems that His foster-father Joseph died sometime before Jesus was crucified, because He asked John to watch over His mother from then on. He went to the temple at age 12, and surprised His family by staying on and teaching the elders there. When they came looking for Him, He again joined the family, until He was about 30. I'm not a scholar, but these things are apparent when you read the Bible. I especially love Isaiah chapter 53, and there are many other truths about Jesus Christ in the Bible.I hope you will get to know Him and follow Him, as so many others have from His day till now.
God bless you at Christmas and always, Connie
