when will these innocent creatures find some rest.

Soon you’d hear a cry, it hurts,

As then the blood it spurts,

From the sealers on the ice,

And frantic be their cries,

But no choice they’d have,

All there be, just hefty laugh,

Yet, the skinning it goes on,

From dusk to early dawn,

The seals have learned to use the axe,

And with a hakepik they wax,

Tall and overpowering,

While the sealers are now cowering,

The tables turned, and now they see,

The sealers then, and those to be,

The females and the babies too,

For mercy now they sue,

It was rewarding but a dream,

Not at all what it does seem,

It showed the life thereafter,

And the devils quirky laughter,©13/04/2017

That was some dream… Giving them a taste of their own medicine. Reminded me once again of that short film I saw of a greedy fisherman catching striped bass and throwing them on the shore. When he ran out of food in his lunchbox, he saw a candy bar in the sand and greedily picked it up and took a bite, only to have a huge hook in his mouth and a long line pulling him across the beach into the ocean. Like your poem and your dream, a very scary reversal of fortune.
