HEE HEE
-------

The man sat alone in the barroom corner
As the barman looked anxiously down
'Cause the tall man would be coming in very soon
He would say the same thing each time around

For a year this strange ritual had happened
Those two words he would call with a grin
"Hello Donkey," he would say to the man sitting down
Then he'd leave after guzzling down a gin

But the barman's curiosity had been tested
And he just couldn't take it any more
So he walked to the man in the corner
Said, "friend, I really must know the score"

"This man he comes in and calls you 'donkey'
He's been calling you this for quite some time
You must tell me why he say's this to you
Or I may end up losing my mind"

"Well, why don't you answer my question?
Is it because he thinks your an ass?
Or did he catch you out in the field sometime
Hunched over and chomping on grass?

"Please sir, i've just got to know this
Can you try me by giving it you're best shot
So the man turns and nods to the barman
Say's, "HEE HAW, HEE HAW, He always calls me that"

Well, donkeys are tame and have soulful eyes... sometimes dilated due to alcohol :) thanks for bringing me a smile this beautiful morning, Gerry.

Best wishes,

Dear Gerald, Nice seeing you again. This poem is a very nice tale and well expressed. If we could only deal with tales the world would be fine. Love Emile

I guess there are worse things to be called, and I think I've been called a few of them!
