A prankster by the name of God (A Near–Limerick)

There was this prankster by the name of God,

Made the Universe and ruled by the Rod,

Till Mankind grew up and called him a bore,

And declared that peace was worse than a war,

And God just agreed to that with a nod.

Footnote:

 

I called the above Near-Limerick, as it is in the style of a Limerick, but ignores the rule of meter… and gives little or nothing to laugh about…
