Got up before daybreak today
I heard a voice calling to me
Gazed at the early morning sky
The stars and moon I could still see

Far over a distant mountain
The first signs of daylight appeared
A bright red glow out to the east
For countless years sailors have feared

Now how does that old saying go
It's stored somewhere inside my mind
I know that it's up there somewhere
Just a little harder to find

'Red sky in the morning
All sailors take warning
But a red sky at night
Is a sailors a delight'

But today, that just doesn't fit
As God tells me, "You've work to do
My child, think of a new saying
And I'll make it happen for you"

So now I sit and contemplate
About the words God said to me
And just what I can come up with
To make this day all it should be

'A clear red sky out to the east
It forecast a glorious day
All the many wonders of God
Are soon to be headed our way

'Bright sunlight will warm this new day
Clear blue skies will be overhead
Morning dew will soon dissipate
The seas shall no longer be dread

'Birds will fly up high in the sky
Gliding on warm currents of air
All of God's beasts in the forests
Will wander freely everywhere'

Sounds like the perfect day to me
The message from God was quite clear
Have faith in the ways of the Lord
And we shall have nothing to fear
