The Rejection Letter is my Shepherd,
I shall not gloat.
It maketh me lie to my family and friends about my writing.
It leadeth me beside a still bank account.
It wallpapereth my bathroom.
It landeth my manuscript in the slush pile for someone’s lunch hour’s sake.
Ye though my query walk through the shadow of “Send sample chapters” and the valley of “Allow eighteen weeks or longer for response,”
I will hope for no publishing contract,
For the Rejection Letter is with me.
Its “not right for us” and “good luck elsewhere,” they comfort me.
It prepareth an empty wallet before me in the presence of mine welfare officers.
My files of unpublished manuscripts runneth over.
Surely namelessness and poverty shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house collecting Rejection Letters forever.
I heard of someone who use to collect all the rejection letters she got. Then when she got a great job sent each and everyone a pro-forma letter stating that she rejected them as she had found the perfect job she was looking for. Seems the confusion that followed was well worth the laugh. As she got lots of letters of appology. Even a few lame offers of work...
I loved the use of the Biblical Psalm. Great design and well worth the read. Hope to read more of your poetry in the near future...
That is just funny as hell. You should write a story off this making the rejection letter a monster in a horror story. I can relate to the whole rejection letter thing because that infamous story got me not only rejected from Chizine but banned.

Yes we have and are all going through this. Rejection frequency seems to be the norm among publishers. Persistance and perserverance are the main ingredients to success. Well done.
Love "it leadeth me beside a still bank account". Very cute. I never thought of wallpapering the bathroom with them. Hmmm. Do you give 'em a polyurethane coat or just let them go au natural?
