where are the angels
who will cry for
the children dying
the stain of their tears
drying
floors of concrete
now stained
as a frame
all that remains
to warm the broken souls
of children
red eyes in their tries
to believe
in tomorrow
is it left to the poets
to picture truth
candle light
calls to the shadows
coveted by
the cries of banshees
claiming their own
upon
a battlefield of lies
does it matter
what flag flies
over graveyards
of innocence torn
Perhaps, not. But children should grow up with essential freedom and personal worth. Oppressive regimes don't give that to their children. And this land grab is a good example of who are not following the rules according to the Geneva Convention. No child should have to endure conditions of war like a combatant. They should be able to grow up in peace with both parents present.
But your poem indicates them under the horror of war that they will never recover from.
Love ya!
