The Catch of the Day

She lures him
with bait undesired
special jigs, did not entice
barby hooks, could not snag

She denies fishing
with love-hate lures
but when flies dance
disturbing her nod
she realizes the feel of a pole-
still

Overt swipes
leave her net no weight
even admission
does not test her line


"Old Charlie" will not fall prey
Her urge unquenched-
makes her
The Catch of the Day.
