A hawk finding food

Hawk

Perched high upon the craggy mount
she seeks her prey with steely eyes.
A movement, oh so slight, pivots her gaze.
She lifts, wings spread, locked to the prey.
Down she drops with blinding spead,
to quick for her target to bound away.
She digs her talons tight and
effortlessly springs back into the sky.
Back to her perch, to taste the kill
and to seek her fill, as she will.
Deadly beauty, high in the air.
She soars and swoops,
untethered to the wind.
