Swirls of cotton, in the blue sky,
the drone of an airplane flying by.
How green the trees this time of year.
Sparrows flitting here and there
searching for scraps to build their lair.
Squirrels scamper to and fro,
seemingly with no real place to go.
Ahh, it’s spring and winters passed us by,
rains will fall to nourish the land,
birds, crickets and frogs
in the calm evening, natures band.
With blooms of purple, reds, blues and yellows,
the garden invites nectar seeking fellas.
This time of year is so fresh and clean,
There’s nothing better than a lovely spring.
You capture the images of spring wonderfully in this poem. They come and go so quickly anymore but there is no better season than Spring and no lovlier time to write poetry about.
A book of nature inspired poems and essays, written from the heart and soul of a life-long nature, animal, and wilderness lover, and dedicated to today’s children - Earth's only hope for a better tomorrow.
