A little ditty

I was sitting on a corner

Watching life go bye

A beauty drove on past

I looked her in the eye

I jumped on my push pike

And broke out in a sweat

The little girl was mine

Though she didn’t know yet

I raced on through a red light

Swerved inside a truck

I knew she would be worth it

All I needed was some luck

She was caught up at the traffic lights

Her blinker flashing right

I gambled on her movements

I gunned my trusty bike

People scattered everywhere

They yelled at me abuse

No time to thank them personally

What would be the use?

I slid around the corner

And hurried on down the lane

I couldn’t help but wonder

Would my chase all be in vain?

I raced on through an intersection

And nearly come undone

The girl had guessed my motives

Now she was having fun

She drove around in circles

And come up from behind

She honked her bloody horn

My gesture she declined

She pulled up along side

I was a physical mess

Follow me she said

If you want to find my address

She left in a cloud of blue smoke

As I was gasping for more air

My legs began to weaken

I started to despair

But then I saw her break light

And she pulled into a drive

Another hundred meters

Would I make it there alive?

A little apprehensively

I parked my trusty bike

She was standing in the door way

Lord she was a sight

She shook her head with disbelief

I was bursting out with pride

She rubbed her chin with her hand

Well you had better come inside.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya
