In the grand scheme, I am just a baby regards being a diabetic, since July of 2009 when my sugar went so high I was found lying on the ground outside my camper, naked, in a high sugar induced coma...That aside, finally, I have been keeping an eye on my sugar level, but damned if I can figure out why it bounces from like 150 up to over 200 over night, I DO eat the wrong things, but only in moderation as I have been told by other diabetics I know...I too am awaiting with bated sugar breath for a cure...I enjoyed this write, Jazz...Ed

Nice poem, there are many people out there in this condition, it the society common problem, but my advise is that you are not alone, always draw your strength from God.

You have a wonderful sense of humor, Lavendar. When you can poke fun at yourself, I'd say your feet are on solid ground. Funny, I heard that Cinnamon...not the kind you buy at the supermarket...but the real stuff you find in the health-food shop, is supposed to be excellent. Have you tried that? oh my Jazz! I'm diabetic too, for only two years, but I've found out it is an insidious monster! I have many other problems including heart, but I detest most the diabetes! So I can relate 100 percent to this poem!;-)Thanks for sharing!...ET

Love this! My mother was a diabetic and I can hear her say these words as well. A difficult disease to deal with in our world as it is today. Very creative!

This poem caught my attention with its title. My younger sister has had diabetes for about 45 years. She developed it when she was eleven or twelve. She loves to bring desserts to our family gatherings though she doesn't eat them. They're always the richest desserts, too. - David
