Katrina, Ike & Gustaff, lords of destruction...

The sky shrills with peril and gathers in a chasm of continuance...and the winds and waters groaning are no worse than our own mind-forged human cries of the living and the dead uprooted and violated.

They do not go gentle into the night, Katrina, Ike & Gustaff, throwing our

domesticity into turmoil and disarray, tools of the unliving, oracles of

destruction,  wrapping us with unfathomed wind and force to glass,

stone and metal, pounding us, drowning us by disciplining us of our

graces, husbanding destruction on us all, these lords and stewards of

their own excellence, deciding who shall live or die? Festering winds

pouring the smells of dead fish and disease, on top of us, robbing us of

our dreams and dignity, leaving the bones of our civilized selves turned

to kindling, we're all sad, tired and wet, wading and waiting for reprieve

from our angry planet.

Your poem mirrors the horrible-ness of these storms. Well stated.

God bless you. Kathy

Angry planet for all the sins we have committed upon her and now we must attempt to make amends, nicely told, full of expression...

Be always safe,

Lords of destruction: apt comparison. Vividly penned, and that illustration is chilling!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I was watching the news this morning. It even affect some parts of Canada. In some places trees snapped in halves, and the power went off, and are now waiting to be restores.

These are really some storms!!!
