I'll ne'er forget the summer that I stayed at grandpa's farm;
The nighttime scare that grayed my hair and caused me such alarm.

'Twas just a shade past midnight when I left my bed to snack,
And from the fridge I ate some food, and then I headed back.

But as I passed by grandpa's room I heard a clinking sound;
The noise was strange and I was scared--I quickly turned around!

My grandpa's teeth sat gleaming in the jar beside his bed;
Then suddenly they hopped the rim, and this is what they said:

"Hello, we're grandpa's dentures, and we're only out at night.
We're pleased as punch to see you here; we'd love to have a BITE!"

With that, those pearlies bit the air; I trembled in my socks,
Then sprinted through my bedroom door and tightened all the locks.

I heard those choppers chattering outside my bedroom door,
Too terrified to leap in bed, my feet stuck to the floor.

My heart was pounding in my chest, my thoughts were filled with doom;
I listened till those falsies clattered back to grandpa's room.

I heard those choppers shout to me before I hit the sack:
"We do not want to BITE you, Kid; we'd like a midnight snack!"
