Can this love survive?

Poem Artwork

"I love you."
She nodded her head.
"You have to answer.
Don't be silent instead."

"I love you of course,
Told you already twice,
So, now just kiss me,
Stop talking like guys."

She sat on the beach,
Waves wetting her feet.
He looked in her eyes,
Then kissed in the heat.

They lay in the sand,
Sunshine on her face
Made her eyes sparkle
Or was is embrace?

The evening descended
And was it too late -
They had to depart
Till tomorrows date.

The time they did set
The same as today
The place it was changed
To the nearest bay.

Kisses again
That made his heart dance
And they separated
Each left in a trance.

~*~

Next day she was there
A bit before time
Looking for him
Her feelings in prime.

After an hour
It became very clear
That he wasn't coming
She blinked back a tear.

"All boys are the same,
They promise us sweetly
Then one moment later
Forget this completely."

~*~

But wrong she was there,
He wanted to meet.
It was not his will -
Somebody else intervened.

His mother decided
Earlier that day
They were going to move
A lot further away.

That made it hard
To meet for his date,
He knew she'd be waiting
He couldn't be late.

But it isn't that easy,
This will say any sage,
When you're just a kid
Less than ten years of age.

"She & He" is a fine poem, and I especially liked the surprise
at the end. I was thinking you and She were older. Then I re-read
the poem again, and I do like it very much. Toni Helfrick

She must think he's just another Momma's boy now. This is a cute little poem for Valentine's Day, Jack. Were you that boy?

Really cute and I can picture this little girls dissappointment and the beginning of her doubt about a boy's love.
