when I was maybe three
I fell down and scraped my little knee
then it stung like from a bee

it bled and I cried
but I only shed the tears
I couldn't keep inside

so that was the matter my mommy
wet towel in hand
came running to see

as if she could foresee
the damage I did to my little knee
then up she picked me

saying there's no reason for worry
I said yes there be
'cause I really have to pee

which she felt
through her shirt and said
oh fiddle dee dee

At first I was getting frustrated reading this-- the overly obvious rhymes, the backwards wording (I hate that...)... but anyhow, I now see what this is about. It's fun. Great subtle slam at over- sentimentality. There is a lot of that- that goes on here, but you're very clever in conveying it. Mine of this nature is: "Cow Ditty"... only I didn't mess with diction-- this grammar queen just can't bring herself to do it. --Charlie

Sweet! Hehehee.
You know when I wrote my poem "Alien Invasion," I was sitting in the Pizza Hut with my crazy children and it was way too noisy. Thought about you and your people observation poems and grabbed my daughter's notebook. ;-)

Oh, how I could see that little red head as the smile of relief brightened your sweet face. (wink) Ah, my dear DannyMac... all the best mommys wear pee, kinda like their scent, when we're young and we hurt our 'little knee'... I laughed but I also shed a bitty tear, for the mind picture of my sweet friend when teeny. (smile) katydid xox
