LOL, Henry, this is a problem for me, too. You are spot on with your humor, yet include a lesson: don't write checks for money one doesn't have! No difficulty for me, since there isn't much in the old account. LOL Well done.
Sadly since online banking sites, I rely on "checking by sight" and some hazy figure in my head. This is fine if you have plenty of money, but since I'm on a fixed income (forced retirment due to medical situation) I often get in trouble FAST, especially at the end of each month! So like tomorrow morning, I'll be running downtown with $50 cash just to be sure I don't overdraw! (your last stanza does not apply to me: I'm always "too tight!"

to the penny one time.
The money goes invisible some how...
LOL! Where do all these bank charges come from.
I have never known anyone who could balance their checkbook to the penny. Especiall not me!
