So restless am I without you my soul may become a shooting star leaving the husk of all that’s left of me scattered about like chaff upon the wind of time to be swallowed by a black hole
ISN'T IT TERRIFIC WHEN ONE CAN LOOK BACK ON A TIME LIKE THIS IN THEIR LIVES AND SAY...'WHEW!!!! AM I GLAD I CAME THROUGH THAT AND...STILL HERE, AMEN!!!' THANKS FOR THE SHARE, MY FRIEND. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
This poem is both moving and deep. It a bit dark but also filled with beauty. An excellent write but a very talented poet and amazing soul who's calling is to leave a mark on this world through written (poetic) word.

I like this. When I read it, instantly I thought it would be perfect in slam poetry.
This is very dark and oh so beautiful. I decided to try and go through the thigs I haven't had time to read of yours yet, and I'm glad I did. This is excellent!
I know this feeling. It visits often. The black hole is always close. It is fortunate that today is Farmer's Market day and the breeze is cool and the sky blue.

Succinct--not a word wasted! Evocative image well captured. I believe I shall be back to read a great deal more of your work. Thank you again for the warm welcome.
I like your Abyss and I like my Abyss, but they certainly are different tones of work. You got me again with this poem, Regis, you caught my life today, scattered and into the black hole...very well-put allegories....Jerry
Don't follow the bright and blinding light, It will blind you and robb you the day light.Follow the dimmer light, your path will be without fight. You will find companions who will help you on your route.Emile
I like what I call "capsule poems" That old "message in a bottle thing" tossed out from struggling, crying souls into the Sea of Madness. In these things the you can't afford to mis-title them. And you didn't. Reminds me of my jazz-rock song (with lyrics) "The Deep Abyss" which is on my new CD with vocals and will be posted here when I get the "digitizer". PLEASE tell me how or where you got that picture! Wow, after seeing that who wants to publish in black & white anymore. Did she look like this?!

I think this has a certain ambiguity and androgyny that is both visually appealing and expands for the reader nicely.
What powerful lines! They say so much with few words. Lost love is hard to bear. It can come again tho,and the next time it might be better, stronger and lasting.........M
You have captured the emotion and pain with such profound and heartfelt meaning. Very moving words.

Why and how can you say in a short, eloquent, moving poem what it takes me a page to try to say?! I envy you but admire you, of course! This is so very beautiful and the picture you put with it enhances the feelings there all the more. Love and God bless from Meredith
Very sad and inspired. Nodopaka's suggestion is not bad though...
(the black hole itself in my writing would have been a black void as a black hole is a notion too prosaic to express what I would feel in such a state).
Beautiful and direct as is all your poetry.

We all have tasted this type of fear at some point in our journey here. And the "black hole" of Love is one of the most unnerving fears that there is. But the heart of who we are decides whether we are lost inside the "Abyss" or not. Love is not for the faint. :)
I love reading your writings. No matter what you write, the emotions are direct and obvious for us all.
When we feel as though a piece of our soul has been taken from us, the emptiness in our heart leaves us feeling like a shell with nothing of any worth inside. Sad and lamenting write, Reg.
Take care,
Sherry
Reminds me of molecules denied gravity, Reg, as this is all that holds them together. Without gravity they'd be scattered through the universe. Such is how we feel when losing someone we love. The ground is liquid beneath our feet but our arms are there to reach out for stability and balance. Acceptance comes after the others stages of greif are felt and worked through-denial, pain, anger-finally reaching a point after greiving 'what was' to accepting 'what is'. But to skip any steps without completely feeling and working through them just sends you back to deal with them up the road. I may be off-base but this poem seems so intensely
personal. We are sucked into the vortex from the first line, swirling in the emotion. Powerful, dear heart...

Hi angel Reg, this is so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
I agree with Marie. This feels like my soul, lost in the abyss of sadness, desolation, loneliness, isolation, misery, depression and much more. You have written a powerful poem of strong emotion that many of us can and do relate to. It is so sad that we are required to suffer just to become stronger. Thanx for sharing dear brother.

Haunting description of the torture of being without a soulmate..........
this made me think of a butterfly. it goes into a cocoon and emerges and in this case it doesn't. Many of us have kept our emotions locked in that they become a void. Powerful write full of emotions to which many can relate.
Regis . . . I don't know if this is personal, or personal for someone else, all I know is I was filled with a sudden gripping melancholy for whomever it was. How deep the rivers flow in the hearts of those who love.
Thankyou
Richard
It is terrible when we lose someone we love. It does feel like all of your life force has been sucked out by a black hole. Hope it gets better for you soon. ~ Sara
Reg, I feel every painful syllable. I'm sorry this has been so hard for you my friend. It's so hard to be away from someone you care about. I can relate more than you realize. Much love, Michelle
A lot of emotions flyig here. However, don't let them swallow you into a black hole. Use this time to heal by putting all that negative energy into positive energy by using your talent to pen us more of your written word. I personally find that when things aren't going as planned, I retrieve into what my friends call "Karen's World", and work on my fiction or pen another poem.
God Bless you Regis, things always have a way of working out.
Abyss redeems that there is a large black hole between the subject and sender. It seems at times, the bigness of these forces seem beyond our power or control. A great deal of emotion here from one person to another what impact they have had in their lives. Touching, Regis. Blessed Be.
Dearest Regis,
Potent creativity often flows from such restlessness!!!
And, creative you are even at your most relaxed of times.
Therefore, we may be in for an overflow of your wonderful heart
and mind ... and what a treat, as long as your heart knows that you aren't really alone; but rather All-One, experiencing life and all it encompasses along with all of us on our unique, yet similar Paths.
Love, friendship, and all the hugs in the world to you Regis,
Suzie :-D
Regis...you took my breath away! Tried by the fire...the candle burns brighter. Your light will never go out...and you WILL BE restored.

That's a universal feeling. All kinds of things make us feel that way. you could be a lost love, a pet, a good friend, a colleague, or metaphoric for something we've always done and have stopped for some reason. Now we are lost. good write
Everywhere and nowhere without the anchor to the soul and the nucleus to our sense of being. You capture that distress so well, Regis. Head knowledge is confident that we need only ourselves... heart understanding is that our whole is made up of two perfectly fitting parts. I have been moved today by a quote by Kahlil Gibran on Peter's page: "If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. And if they don't, they never were." This is gut-wrenching but perhaps so true. Of course, to be separated by death is another matter. In whichever case, the heart is flesh and malleable... there will be another "perfectly matching part" to a heart that is as tender and soft as yours, Regis. Bless you, thank you and be well, dear One. LOL Kate xx
You packed this short verse with amazing power, making each word bring the point home with clout! Superb write Regis! Hope it isn't fact. Thanks for sharing! All the best to you!
