Praying for Rain

Watching from the kitchen window She sees him standing in the field A teardrop running down her face For she knows how he feels All their hopes and all their dreams Lie just beneath the ground And in the sky above them A cloud cannot be found They need a little rain She walks out there to be with him Looks into his troubled eyes Looking back at her reflections of The clear blue cloudless sky She says �Please try not to worry Everything will be ok� He drops the dust that he was holding And the wind blows it away She�s praying for rain As they turned in that night he said� � I cant take this anymore� She said �I know it�s hard to keep the faith When the wolves are at the door� She said �Everything will be alright As long as we�re together� Come lay down here beside me I�ll take your mind off of the weather Praying for rain He awoke to see the morning light Shinning through her cotton gown She was standing at the window As the rain was pouring down He got up and held her in his arms As they watched the falling rain The answers to her prayers Written on the window pane The rains finally came � Jack Roberts � October 19, 2003
