Sad reflections on a paycheck stub. Sympathy noted to those who are currently unemployed.

Title Quote from "Network", Howard Beale

Poem Artwork

Four digit income

Five digit tax

I haven’t yet decided

Which politician gets the ax

Not speaking metaphorically

Not speaking of election

I’m thinking sharpened stainless blade

Upon my paycheck stub inspection

To fatten up the bloated system

I get less while paying more

While fat cats fly their private jets

To bribe the governmental whores

The economics don’t trickle up

Nor do they trickle down

They gush straight to the pockets

Of every politician clown

And as long as we let them do it

We deserve just what they sell

When you’re farming in a cesspool

Your produce tends to smell

So send them cards and letters

To the leaders of your choice

Let them know you are dissatisfied

In your most annoying voice

This national theft is over

Let them know just what you mean

That shiny sharpened stainless blade

Works great in a guillotine

At least you are getting something, which is better than nothing.. Its a sad state of affairs for many and unfortunately the higher ups have no conception of what the real world is like...M

What a country; and I doubt it will ever change.

It's not any different here, Patrick; not that I expect that to be any consolation for you. Love and peace,

Patrick,

Oh, me thinks you are pissed off. Me too! I'm getting tired of working 12 hours day, and looking at my sad paycheck. I do have one consolation. At least I am working.

I'm reminded here of Howard Beale in 'Network' one of the best film rants ever, which people obviously never heeded. You follow suit really well here Patrick with this excellent piece...I think they will hoist themselves with their own petard eventually. Hopefully save getting the guillotines dirty. Lol

...And meanwhile there are Veterans barely getting by or living, homeless and broken, on the streets, or nearly so; and nobody seems to give a flyin' fig. Sad! Throw the whole lot of 'em out!!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

But wait Patrick, they want more. Ax them all... especially the lawyers. Well, maybe not.
