Never underestimate the determination of a hound in breakfast mode.

Cry of the Wooly Banshee

As I lay in bed this morning

The clock was straight up seven

I heard the most ungodly cry

That could not have come from heaven

The mournful sound cut through my soul

So early this odd morning

As I contemplated what it was

The attack came without warning

Another cry and then a howl

As the creature lunged at me

It was clear that I would not escape

The cry of the Wooly Banshee

And so I rose from my sweet bed

And headed for the loo

But the cries continued long and loud

So I pinched a loaf or two

You’d think that mutt was starving

By the way she used her voice

Like being at the opera

Her howl was pure rejoice

As I poured some of her kibble

Into her shiny little bowl

I got another chorus

Of “my stomach has a hole”

Not wasting another moment

On the floor I set her dish

And the Wooly little Banshee

Finally got her canine wish

It’s not that I don’t empathize

With her doggy singing way

The fact is I am entertained

Twice, every single day

I would had gone down on my fours and howl at the mutt like a demented lion with his jewels caught on a bear trap and when its was scared shitless...left my leg and pee on its favorite cushion!
That will teach the little monster!

Adorable piccy and poem, Patrick; well done! Reminds me of when my Maine Coon cat, "Cajun", would get me up to feed her. She would literally step on my chest or purr in my face, telling me to "Feed Her. NOW!" LOL Of course, I couldn't stay mad for long when I saw her sweet face looking all innocent. LOL
