My Funnybone

I don’t find it funny at all

That thing inside my elbow joint

The one that lets me see the stars

When I whack it on its magic point

 

It has a dreadful sense of humor

This awful little nerve

Just why it’s called a funny bone

A bogus name it does not deserve

 

It told me a joke just yesterday

But funny it was not

The visual effects were quite intense

And nearly dropped me on the spot

 

I guess it’s not the elbow’s fault

When I walk and swing it free

For though the joint is clearly humorous

The joke will always be on me

Man, i've hit that thing so often at work. i can't imagine why it's called what it is, unless it's because when i hit it, and i'm grimacing, all the others around me are chuckling

OUCH! Hitting your funny bone is NOT funny; have done that plenty of times, and I just about cry every time. Doesn't help I have arthritis there either. :/ Cute write, though; well done! Love the piccy! LOL

In German it's called "Musikantenknochen." Means musician's bone. Guess they have a slightly different take. Makes you sing instead of laugh. Funny poem!
