Dick posted a poem pondering - who's measuring?

I offer this

Poem Artwork

Measuring requires units.

Units require standards.

Standards require agreement.

Agreements require negotiation.

Negotiation requires participation.

Participation requires willingness.

Willingness requires empathy.

Empathy requires acknowledgment.

Acknowledgment requires admission.

Admission requires a ticket.

A ticket requires currency.

Currency requires work.

Work requires time

Time requires nothing

Therefore, nothing is measured and by inference

Nobody measures anything.

This got way too complicated, I had to measure myself a double scotch using the 3 finger method (a non-standard).

Complicated, indeed. I better have a morning pick me up, and contemplate this a little more.

In my humble estimation (measuring your words), I think this is very clever, Patrick. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

As usual, and I'd guess it's my age, but you lost me at about, "Willingness requires empathy." So I don't know if it's because I'm becoming feeble minded or because I just don't know what the hell you're talking about... Except for the three fingers of scotch but in my case it would be three fingers of tequila which is the proper measure for a shot of tequila; Sauza Tequila, that is; white or gold, it don't matter.
Mark... Oh, yeah, help your wife.

Patrick, you lost me at "Standards" I haven't had any for years, but then you got me back at the 3 fingered double Scotch. Think we're on the same page now and I enjoyed reading this one.

Thanks Dick
