Can't catch a break

Poem Artwork

Playing poker with the muse again

The bastard cheats

Constantly deals from the bottom of the deck

He says it’s educational

But I don’t much care for the lesson

He keeps upping the ante

I fall for it every time

Then he slams me with a full house

After dealing me three kings

Says he has to challenge me

To take chances

A risk or two

I nod

Yeah you’re right

I do need to take more chances

So I will

I’m all in……..

He looks at my straight flush

Then shakes his pointy head

While flaunting his smirky little grin

And he lays down a Royal

Damn

Back to the drawing board

Truly amusing! I don't know Poker, but I'd really like to learn Bridge. The only card games I know at this point are Go Fish and War. You are way above my head with the card talk! :)

I knew you were a player, but I didn't know you were so hard on yourself. I guess that's why these pieces are so good. You don't settle for three kings when a Royal flush will do.
