More true stuff off the newswire:

Dateline: Shingletown, California 1/26/12

70 year old William Oller shot his 50 year old son William Jr last week at a local residence, while he was singing a Kenny Chesney song using a karaoke machine. The father briefly left the home saying “I’m gonna shut you up,” returning moments later with a hand gun. Shots were fired striking the younger Oller several times and during the ensuing struggle the elder Oller accidently shot himself in the leg. From his hospital bed Oller, who was shot in the head, forgave his father claiming recent strokes had altered his emotional state. The DA may not be so forgiving.

The Ballad of the Showdown in Shingletown

How many times have I told you

Not to play that song

It’s bad enough that damned machine

Lets you sing along

Your nasal voice destroys that tune

Which makes me really mad

So now I gotta shoot you

Even though I am your dad

Don’t mess up Kenny Chesney

That’s all I got to say

It’s blasphemous karaoke

I’ve gotta blow your ass away

The next American idol

You will never be

Cause when you mess up Kenny

The only judge is me

She thinks my tractor’s sexy

Back in my hometown

No shoes, no shirt, no problem

When the sun goes down

There goes my life

In my old blue chair

Everybody wants to go to heaven

I’m about to send you there

Don’t mess up Kenny Chesney

That’s all I got to say

It’s blasphemous karaoke

I’ve gotta blow your ass away

The next American idol

You will never be

Cause when you mess up Kenny

The only judge is me

I guess it's a good thing that Mean Tall Woman doesn't know where I hide the key to the gun cabinet. Me and the Mangy Mutts howl out C&W tunes all the time.

Good one Patrick, I can see it climbing the charts, as we speak.

You left out YOU AND TEQUILA DRIVE ME CRAZY and THE BOYS OF FALL though.... booze, sex and, of course, FOOTBALL. How could you?

I only sing along when you're not home, so I'm safe. Funny. Tix available in July if you want to hear 100,000 people singing along.
