“What My Poetry Has Become”

I have seen you
As a friend on lonely nights
Slowly you became
More than just a friend to me
I started to dream about you
I started to build some fantasies around you
As I went to bed at night
You became the last thing on my mind
Then my dreams came alive
And you became my poetry Knight at last
I started to write about you
And the wonderful ocean O’ so blue
About beautiful moments within
I could write about the perfect love in my life
All in but a dream yeah
I could become this beautiful woman
You told me I could be a world-class woman
And that you were proud of me
So I penned it all down
And called it my poetry
What is poetry?
Without fantasy it becomes reality
And the reality is I also write fantasy poetry
And you my reader and friends
Come along and read me
And you see it as reality
Now I will state my case
And smash these dreams of mine own
And call them lies
If that will please you more
And because of my own stupidity
Now I have to pay the price!!
The alternative price it will be
The price of humiliation… or
Poetical DEATH!!
For the evils my poetry has done in the past
This could mean the end of so many things

So I am sorry if I ever hurt anyone with these lies
By writing about special moments and my stupid DREAMS!!
And so…

For now my fantasy dreams will die today…

And without that “love” in my heart
There can be no dreams without even poetical love!!
No Poetry right?

Dearest Tinka,

I have no idea what instigated this write, I daresay it is powerful and yet heartbreaking to read. I can only suspect that someone must have said something hurtful. The biggest mistake any of us can ever do, is to "REACT" to what ignorant people feel they need to say. Reaction gets satisfaction!!! and you obviously just threw it into their lap.

Now my suggestion, for what it's worth, is, you my sweet friend open up your heart and soul and write, write like there is no tomorrow, for it is YOUR gift, allowing ANYONE to deny you this is the biggest mistake you will ever make.

The other factor is, "Assumption is the mother of all f#.k ups" I am sure you have heard this often, isn't it amazing how many immediately "ASSUME" (make an ASS of U and ME) they know and understand everything... let them, allow them to relish in their own stupidity Tinka, but for goodness sake be yourself, and change for NO ONE!!!

Warmest hugs and love sweet friend.

Tinka:

We, the writers, write about a lot of stuff. Different genres for different things. Dreams are just dreams, fanttasies are just fantasies. Unfortunately, like many other of my writings before, some took that into accounts and thought they were real.

I think being a good writer is to convincingly write and let people thought that they are real and let them feel your writings for you. In this, I think you have mastered the skill so well. All your poems have been so convincing. Just be happy! When your fans believe what you write, it's your victory! Enjoy it!!!!!

What?! Poetry is very many things to very many people - truth, fantasy, fiction, reality, drama, comedy, tragedy, and dreams - write whatever the heck you feel like writing, Tinky, and we will continue to read your posts - and don't worry about nay-sayers, who cares what they say anyway.

Aww Tinks, I hope this is just a little Glitch because you write some of the best stuff on AD, your poetry is always from the heart and full of meaning you can cover the whole gamut of emotions from silly joyful humour to gut wrenching saddness in a few short words.
keep at it chuck.

Dear Sara,

I am sorry too...and to a point I am 100% with Eileen here....God cannot be blamed for the stupidity of mankind...he well did give them they brain to create their own downfall...no doubt about that!!

Memory lane the only way to deal with "Poets Block" and reposting my work back on AD with pictures and music!! No connetion with the past otherwise...be not afraid...I will NOT fall into the same "trap" although it still hurts like HELL sis!!

TINKA? I don't know why you are walking down memory lane. None-the-less, this, like all of your other works, is poetry at its best. ~ Sara (an old friend with a very long memory)

Be well Tinka. I'm sorry.

I'll make you a wager. Your poetry will remain the same. Why? Because it comes from your heart and soul and is only tangenitally about another person.

I don't get it Tinka you have a great following, and we all love and read you every day, so what's the problem! Just write whatever you want to, and forget what anyone thinks. You know we all care about you!

I don't know what the hell you are talking about, but that's okay, I seldom know what people are talking about. We so-called poets do a lot of soul-searching and spilling of our very hearts and minds and fears and happiness into these little poems we write. We put them out there, and sometimes, later on, we wonder if we have done the right thing. Well, Tinka, I say to you . . . HELL YES! Composing our thoughts is just that, composing our thoughts. If we lie about our thoughts, we lie to ourselves. If you have hurt someone, that is maybe not a good thing, but to not expose your soul in your writing is a worse thing. Sermon over.
