Mocked By Fate

I heard someone knocking at my door

Bewildered I looked around to see

We were mocked by fate yet again

As emotions left me blind like so many times before

Tears popped from my eyes instantly

Deep within feelings mocked by fate once again

Tears now hanging upon eyelids for a while

Before dripping down

Just to splash upon my feet

At the hour before dusk came along

With raw disappointment that cling to my heart

Knowing this was the hour

We had to say our goodbyes

Till we meet again

Between dusk and dawn someday

Traveling among stars so bright

Taking you from here to there

The Westside to the Eastside of somewhere

Thinking about you constantly

I close my eyes not to face reality

Mocked by fate once again

And now till we meet again

When dawn kisses the sun

Hopefully fate will subside

And make things right

And together we will be my love!!

Fate generally is more sad than happy. It's the loss of control that saddens.

A woeful poem that tugs the heartstrings of love, but there is hope in the lights that give us so much. Where would we be without the sun abd moon... Write on Tinka...love ET
