Poem Artwork

Picture...nightfall on the farm!!

Time To Wander

As dawn turns to dusk

Along the roads of my memories

Cold wind running through my hair

As I wander I look around and realize

The veldt had never looked so bare before

As this night comes down in slow degrees

Sending chills down my spine

Thinking…why did God create darkness

Is it because nothing lasts anyway?

Not even the warmth of the sun

As time walks through the night

Thoughts of black calls onto me
Mixing it with white blossom

As I walk along the road of my life

Words failed me once more

Killing the braveness within

It left nothing but pouring tears

Thinking why this old world out there

So lonely in it’s darkness

Still have bright stars to hold onto

Wonderful how well the song fits with the poem!
Darkness is an enigma...it can symbolize evil, or speak of peace.
Jesus is referred as "the true Light that came into the world" in the Gospel of John. There's so much in the bible about light and darkness, it's no wonder darkness causes us to ponder.
I love your last 3 lines, ending with "still have bright stars to hang onto" Even in darkness, we can "walk in the light" of God.

Love,
Connie

We have adapted well to darkness. Your poem lends to the fear of the unknown it possesses.

Beautifully penned, dear Tinka! We all must walk through day and night, through the darkness and the light. Cling to those stars that lead you into the next sunrise.

Love & Light always and in all ways,

Beautiful contemplation and meditation, Tinka. So soulful and deep-felt. But, like the extremes of heat and cold, we need both light and dark to bring forth the full abundance of what might lie inbetween. Being stripped bare in every respect and in all ways is good preparation for fresh harvest; the most fruitful branches are always "cleaned". As a farmer, you will, of course, know all this, but you have put across your quandry and empathy with the naked time of year so well here. Stirring poetry! TY Kate xx

Why did God create darkness indeed...perhaps so the shadows could hide sorrow and sadness, or maybe, so Silence could sleep undisturbed.
And then, he create light, when it was time for laugh to wake up.
Time to wander...and time to read your words.

Very sad emotional thoughts
But I too often wonder about the
darkness the world looks very scary in the night
but if you look up to the beautiful sky
you will see such beauty, the star shining so bright
and the moon sending you light
Of hope into your soul!!
It helps us to appreciate the world!
Very sad and profound view of thoughts!!

An exceptional poem, Tinka. We all feel that way sometimes, and then we wake one morning and the sun breaks through the clouds once again and we smile. You have a touching way of opening up your heart and speaking through it in honest measures, sweet poet lady.

"Along the roads of my memories"

I like this image sissy. We live in a universe comprised of opposites. Like a long swinging pendulum. Everything is somehow integrated and depends on whats around it in ofttimes mysterious ways. It's one of the reasons people misunderstand each other and get hurt so easily.

This is a beautifully introspective portrait of a longing heart. Stand Strong! Love from big bro ...

Light and Wisdom ...
