"Gazing Into the Night"

She gazed at her bedside clock

It was close to midnight

Did she lose consciousness for a while?

She did not know what happened

But she knew something was wrong

She forced herself to touch her face

Chills ran down her spine

She felt the dampness in her neck

And through wide open spaces

She swear she could feel a nudge

From someone somewhere out there

She gazed through her window

From where she could see the Southern Cross

And within every fiber of her mortal heart

She could feel the pain on missing out

And from the deepest part of her soul

She knew… and could feel

The pain of missing out

On a love just as bright

She did not know what was happening

As she felt the dampness

That keeps rolling from her eyes

And she knew

Somewhere somehow in her life

Something went wrong

Gazing into the night

Towards the Southern Cross

Loneliness is a deep pain that can visit even those who are amongst family and friends. It is that small piece of our heart or soul that feels like it is missing something...

gazing into the night
beneath the pale moon rising
a tiny seed has grown sturdy
sparkling moonbeams on its leaves
signify reflections of joy ahead
from a fuzzy light of hope
to silky shades of dawn
welcomes the grandeur morning sun
where her sadness disappears
emerge so bright is her smile...

beautiful write friend! Ari

As we went over the churning waters of the Cape Horn, the Southern Cross was leading the way.
Tinka, you certainly knows your skies.

The beuty of this write glows like the beauty of the Southern Cross on a summer night and shines on long after we finish reading it. The pain of realization that love can not be requitted only dreamed abou in the presence of another is a pain that never seems to end.
