Conflict between the peace of nature and misery of a bad relationship.
I slipped away to greet the day. A muffled silence filled the forest air. No wind disturbed the resting trees. Some places seemed so comfortable, the clouds lingered in their nighttime beds among the moist boughs of the fragrant evergreens.
The dew on the leaves evidenced the loving caresses between the clouds and the trees.
Their separation was delayed like the parting of the love struck.
As I strolled, the gravel crunched under my shoes and when the rhythmic crunching stopped, the silence was peaceful.
Not the silence of cold indifference that I left behind, but the comforting silence of contentment.
The sun climbed higher and I reached the edge of the wood.
A slight breeze rustled the trees awake and seemed to pry the last fingers of the clouds from the outstretched hands of the loving trees as they waved goodbye.
