Poem Artwork

Caught in a web of deceit
(lies well spun)
I repeat:
caught in a web of deceit
(more than one)
she crawled, was turned to the streets
by he … for whom her heart beats.
His wee treats
(I surmise)--for silence, lies.

Caught, tongue twisted in white lies
(lies bring flies),
walls, ears … eyes;
caught, tongue twisted in white lies
(there are spies)
a tiny indiscretion
brought shame upon our nation—
impeachment—
he left room for improvement.

Caught in a sticky venue—
(lied, those two)
but wouldn’t you?
Caught in a sticky venue
(The world knew)
Her lips won’t make divorcee’—
just scandal.
Why did not they foresee?

Caught in silk threads, history,
(tears were cried);
misery.
Caught in silk threads, history
(yes, he lied).
Wise of heart with mind astray—
a play day--
made Clinton pay,
Monica!

in certain circumstances the truth is better not said until totally necessary ... it's human nature, covering up our sexual improprieties, is our first reaction ...

At least "Monica" was the biggest thing that the Americans ever had to worry about in those days. Now...

Best President in my lifetime, and I miss him more every day. We wouldn't be in all these messes if he were there. I had the best years of my life in the '90's and the worst in the last there. Monica has a lot of money now and I'll bet she doesn't regret anything.

Except reference to Monica the "lies" (white or black) suits to Dubyaman Bush too. Good poem.

Poor ole Billie Bob...ya'll jus' won't let the boy be. Dang! But really, I liked him as a president...found him to be less then acceptable as an individual. Good write.
