Happy Mothers day Mrs Elephant

There's no cards in the mail
no telephone calls
early morning chattering
coming from within four walls

No unnecessary expenditure
that loved ones can ill afford
just the call of nature
neath the eye of the Lord

The Herd is gathered close
each one in it's place
keeping watch over birthing
assuring no invasion in that space

Protection from predators
that may lurk closely by
grouped together these mothers in arms
ensuring this little one dosent die

And when the miracle is over
baby is cleaned and on it's feet
they trot off into the bush again
to safety amid their special retreat.

Happy Mothers day Mrs Elephant
and thank you for your trust
for us to see this wondrous event
in this ailing world....is indeed a must!
