I imagine as poets here, we all have our own favorite writes. Here is one I would like to share at this time. Written last fall, waiting for my daughter to come out of Sunday school. It was written for my eyes, by my heart, in a church yard.

Today I Tripped And Fell In Love ~Or~ Summer's Last Adieu
Today I tripped and fell in love And did not feel the bruise I fell in love with autumn mists That left a chilly dew
I fell in love with harvest leaves That patched my morning stroll Beneath my step and on the breeze As I inhaled....the cold
Today I tripped and fell in love As autumn caught my fall The wind caressed my hair and face And kissed me with...it's all
I fell in love with ivory skies In lighter shades of blue I fell in love! YES FELL IN LOVE! With summer's last .....adieu

Ah yes. It is so easy to fall in love with the fall colors. We love the change of colors here in Mn but were even more impressed when we drove through Vermont during the fall.

'The leaves of brown came tumbling down, remember, last September in the rain'
Couldn't help singing this as i read this seasonally atmospheric piece. Don't know about falling in love with the leaves though. My job as a farmer's gardener was to clear up the leaves at the end of autumn. As the house was surrounded by tall trees, the garden and yard were blanketed with leaves. Took me till the middle of December to clear them all up - tractor and trailer loads. I'll love leaves in your poem Anita, but I was sure glad to see the back of them at the end of the season. LOL!
