Crowned with rue of the passing springtime

I pace amid the scented sedge and tall cane;

The winds dance in the wanton willows and

On the tumultuous waters I scarcely descry

The whirling cherry petals’ a farewell smile.

I love the adjectives in this one. And yes, the beauty of cherry blossoms is a fleeting one. Brings on melancholy as the seasons pass and we all reach the end of our "day in the sun."

Sounds a bit melancholy this changing of the seasons. The title says it all. Nice job. I can't help but think how much I miss the changing of the seasons, however, living as I do here in the desert. John
