I recall all the places
I went to see in the past—
I have chased after all
Famously known historical sites.
Revelling the mountain fresh air,
I climbed up high peaks
And down to the bottom valleys;
Loving the rivers, I floated
A myriad boats and ships.
I saw my friends off
Behind the capital city walls;
I brought my lute along
To the Immortal Grove.
How could I know I'd end up
In these depths of the pines,
Holding my knees in my arms
While cold winds whistle high
In the pinned crowns.
