As we gather ourselves against Winter’s chill, remember to embrace the sacred hearth of love within each soul.

Poem Artwork

~

Beneath the light - in the darkest part of night -

a wisp of breath gathers from the contrails of

thought; sustains us in a thin arc of air

– breathing us.

In the deepest part of night – stronger than the light,

a mystery persists beyond our imagining;

sustains us with its compassionate pulse

– living us.

In the darkest part of night – remember the light:

a brilliance endures to assuage our fear;

sustains us with its luminescence

- guiding us.

Break open the Alabaster Jar:

release the fragrant balm upon our own souls;

anoint the unwavering Sacred Partnership

– blessing us

through the long winter’s night…

Down through the eons we have always dreaded the coldest, darkest time of year but there was always that spark that brought us together when we knew that the worst was over and the days would gradually get longer and summer would come again heralded by the amazing rebirth of spring.
