Fantasy I rarely write, but with this picture, it only seemed just right...

Of Myth, Fantasy & Reality… Roamed they did, this earth before man, Extinct they are, except for our fantasies, An animal of mythic proportions, Magical to say the least, part of the god’s master plan… From another planet it is said, they did come, To inhabit this our earth with many and then some, Ancient knights found them to be easily killed, Fear and loath they had their fill, Were not able to be ridden, brought on their death, Using their horns to kill many who tried, took away their breath… If here today, would we be any different? Man has not changed; he still kills for sport, These mythical creatures still would be extinct, Their beauty and elegance would make them endangered, When has that stopped man from destroying & killing? See how the whale is treated and the tiger too, Not mythical but magical they are this is true … When will man learn, his lessons he still has yet to do? Killing off creatures will eventually lead to our own demise, When will man start to kill for sport, all of us, even you…? © ed – 4/17/04

My goodness, Eddy M... you obviously awoke with your 'thinking cap' on.. this is guaranteed to provoke thought and well it should! When confronted with the 'sins' of humans toward animals, I make myself also remember that it is a human who is behind the words and actions of those who fight for the preservation of our animal brethren... we aren't lost, mankind that we are.. You've touched a chord and your song is a thing of beauty. That's a gorgeous picture. Also, it's very cool to see you venturing into so many poetric directions.. a man of many genres! Good question, Ed. Right now, man kills man for hate; and man kills animal for sport. If the killing continues, and man cannot quench his thirst to kill something; and we've killed off all the animals, one day man could kill man for sport. Powerful message here.
