What & Why I Write...

I write humor mostly,

I do so as it makes me feel toasty,

Yes all warm inside to make you laugh,

As the world is a place of few laughs,

More than I wish, I see that of graft…

I write of humor,

As my world in general, even though I endeavor,

Is a place of little humor,

Mostly that of my just trying to be clever,

Hardly does it seem to work, just have to say, oh well, whatever…

I hardly really write for myself, I just love to make others laugh, yes you,

Although my darker side seems to over-ride and show my snide side,

If it does I truly apologize, even during the search for enlightenment,

As good to the rest of the world as I try to be, 

Tracked to the side, does my past take me…

I wish through my writes, that you all will see the better side of me,

Maybe someday I will need character references & you can say,

Yes, that guy is a character, that is for sure and most certainly true …

I seem to wonder sometimes, if maybe I belong in a zoo,

Sharing a cage, no it would be a cell, with a brood of Pooh’s,

Perhaps then I could write from the animal’s point of view,

Or just maybe I could slip into that of a family of kangaroos,

With my big feet and ears, not one of them might realize, except maybe you…
