I did my duty on a day when saluting the country I live is a great thing...

Poem Artwork

On A Mission…

Got into our home a fly,

He was such a big one,

This fly must have been a guy,

He did fly in my face,

Flaunting my flyswatter,

Making Rufuz jump,

And me to fall,

With flyswatter in hand, on my rump…

This fly he had his own agenda,

Causing havoc in this our hacienda,

So Rufuz and I decided, yes we made a referenda,

This fly he must go, no matter how slow,

We must catch him by all means,

Even if it meant ripping out our screens…

Finally, he did get caught, in the shower, and I thought,

This guy has to go, I have had his constantly being in my face,

I wanted to call SPLAT, but they were too far away,

So with my trusty flyswatter in hand,

I did approach him and follow wherever he did land…

Still took me quite sometime, a shower I was wanting,

Did not want to share my water and soap,

Finally did stun this creature or so I hoped,

Yes, YES, I was ecstatic; there he lay on the shower floor,

Almost beaten, almost at deaths door…

When I went to pick him up and throw him out the front door,

I didn’t, you see, want to kill him all the way, if I didn’t have too,

But he made me, I had no choice, he did try to flutter away,

On his back, in the hot water of the shower, he still had life, still a threat he was,

So as SPLAT would be proud, I squashed him with a paper towel,

No longer does he fly in my face, nor does Rufuz jump and snap,

His agenda beaten, no he could not make me, any longer, look like a sap…

I'm so very, very glad he didn't eat you alive. Just kidding. I enjoyed reading about your mission. Just be glad he didn't get inside your underpants. That would have spiced up your poem; however, he would have died from lack of retinal input. Not kidding. Thanks for the fun read, Ed.

Uh OH... here comes the bug patrol... Eddie K, as you know, is head of BB (no, not AA) Beloved Bugs! It was either him or you, right? Life, as you know it, was passing before your eyes.. you did what you could, didn't you? Sigh... I guess Splatting is an epidemic... and YOU are a tease. You KNOW Eddie K is gonna try to save your splattin' soul... REPENT! before you are plopped down in a cheese casserole by some roving ants, like me! (grin) katy xox.

Edward Matlack! (My mother called me Edward when I was a bad boy) And you have been a very very bad little boy. And I cannot believe that the rest of these reviewers are condoning this barbaric behavior.

You have definitely been brainwashed by Andrew Splat. I am sending a BUG Intervention Team immediately. In the meantime, please watch the movie, Flies Are People, Too. That should help until the team arrives.

Maybe if you got those feet washed somehow in your miniscule shower, you wouldn't be attracting flies, Ed!

Just kidding!
