Howdy Pardner…

Here I be, just sittin’ and thinkin’ near this tree,

Do I need a bigger hat, what will the girls think with that,

Maybe that I do have bigger meat; yes much and more fat,

Or will they be drawn to my beard to tickle me right near…

Am I attractive enough, no I am not vain, just wonderin’,

My horse seems to like me enough; of course I smell the same as she,

After a long day in the saddle, but to me I just stink, a bath for me,

Is my shirt on right, does it fit enough, or do I need more muscles?

A squarer shoulder maybe, smaller glasses, to please the masses…

All this and more can I add to my picture,

If only I had that program I wanted to buy,

It would make me look like a star, no lie,

But the money be not there, so I have to go home to mount the pair,

Of genuine alligator pointy toed shoes on the back of the chair

Till the next paycheck and see if I can afford more muscles then & there…

Ed, you missed your time, you should have been born in 1799! You are true cowboy, and that ain’t no joke, for whenever you get near your mare she begins to choke…lol! Peace thru taking a bath on a daily basis…lol! Excellent work my friend!

Once went on a trail ridwe with a cowboy in Wyoming...all the way up to Clock Tour where Chief joseph took the women, kids and old people to hide out. He told me he hunted grizzlys' from horseback and the best way to attract them was to drag a pair of worn jeans ( worn for a week or so) from the saddle. He said they come out for the smell. Your poem reminds me of that story a little. Ever hunt bear?
Funny write today!

Howdy, Partner, indeed! Saddle up boys; there's a tough lookin hombre in town. Were you in the movie, The Wild Bunch? One of my favorite Westerns - and you look kind of familiar.

PS My respect and admiration just went up, if you truly smell like your horse!!
