Surly Curly… Never was Curly ever surly, Only the title of this poem, If you ever did actually know ‘em, You would have found him intelligent quite early… Curly was THE man, His likeness that of a ham, He was the best of three, Hardly did they get paid, They worked mostly for free… He lived a life of humor, At least that was the apparent rumor, And if I am not mistaken, He did die of a tumor, But since his passing, His life is well known by every consumer… © ed ~ 10/24/04

You are the first person I've ever known to have a rather detailed bio on any of the Stooges. I confess, I never liked them, even as a kid... it made me sad and upset the way Moe treated the other two... violent and nasty. It was too close to the way I saw kids treating each other... I got picked on too... I was vocal about NOT liking them. Of course, I felt sorry for Curly... sigh... they still represent a side of life that absolutely upsets me, the unkindness and intolerance people show towards each other... (I suppose I'm taking this just a teeny bit too far? hehe) I still don't like them. Harrumph! katy xox. p.s. oh, but your poem was nice... oh yes! xox.

Back when I had ambition, I studied all the 3 Stooges movies as examples of the best editing, timing, slap-stick excellence. (Anyone who wants to be a film maker or editor would be wise to do this!)

Curly was definitely The Man, and the best of the wild wacky bunch. Nothing surly about our Curly. Yuk, Yuk, Yuk!
