1776 (for my 1776th poem, a special one, sort of )

In honor of my 1776th poem I give you a taste of history, twisted though it may be, it is still from me as you can see...

1776…(in celebration of that year & my 1776th poem)

1776, the year the English did get their kicks,

Right on out of North America learning who was “it”,

That year they did lose face,

That year they did certainly lose the race…

Since then they have flourished,

Never have they seemed malnourished,

They and the “colonies” have remained fast friends,

Right from the beginning we have made our amends,

To stay friends with the British right up to, so far, the very end…

Though some choose to see US lose,

We remain steadfast in all our views,

Our lives have changed over all that time,

As Milton said, “Our hearts jocund and sublime!”

In the grand scheme I must admit we are still in our prime…

Clever, Ed. 1776..holy cow!! I just broke 100 after a couple of years of posting. You have a much more active muse than I do, I can certainly see that.
Take care,
Sherry

Congratulations Ed on 1776 poem this is some feat and to link it to the year when you kick us out of your States gives it history.
The fact that we are still friends after well over two hundred years must mean some special friendship, long may it last.
Thanks Ed, enjoyed.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
