Thanks Tom Lanechanger for the inspiration for this poem...

Poem Artwork

They’re coming to take me away…

IN a jacket that fits from the rear,

A zipper and straps I cannot get near,

Can’t get it off by myself I do fear,

IN a rubber room I will find myself, oh dear…

Seems I have spoken out a bit too much,

You know what I do say a lot and such,

I speak of the craziness I do encounter,

Mostly when I do look in the mirror,

That’s when I do see things getting clearer…

So, if I am missing for a short bit,

I guess you will know that myself I did commit,

Hopefully after realizing I am not the least insane,

They will let me use my computer to transmit,

Could it have been all that cocaine?

This really does tick me off,

Now I won’t have time to keep up on my knitting,

As they will be constantly talking to me while I am in for a fitting,

Of my classy new jacket that ties in the back,

Oh, well you have to excuse me; here comes the nurse that does the admitting…

At least you have a classy new jacket - my wife refuses to buy me one - she's decided to just tie me to a chair when she goes to work - says this will finally keep me out of trouble. Got any scissors handy - the kiddy kind - I don't want to cut myself. Thanks.

Still LOL at Mountain Poet's comment...

This is one of your best pieces, Ed! Did you have to wait until
the loony wagon came, in order to write this good?
Hee hee. Please don't leave. The rest of us crazies need you.
