To Poem…

You first have to of words, know em’,

Words then have to be strung together, maybe then sew em’,

They as well can be grown, yes then you would grow em’,

They must to have some semblance of fluidity, so flow em’…

Poetic license taken herein with respects,

I have a hard time to write without my specs,

I know that some may feel that my subjects,

Are anything but quite complex,

Hell I don’t know how my poems will turn out,

Till I finish em’ and see they have no noticeable defects…

To poem one learns to of his opinions expand,

More than once I have been told to go and pound sand,

If you do totally and completely herein understand,

Maybe you could to me explain and let me know if you think it bland…?

Your good my friend...and here are the song by the Beatles!!

Artist: The Beatles Lyrics
Song: While My Guitar Gently Weeps Lyrics

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it need sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know why nobody told you
how to unfold you love
I don't know how someone controlled you
they bought and sold you

I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know how you were diverted
you were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
no one alerted you

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at you all
Still my guitar gently weeps

Oh, oh, oh
oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
oh oh, oh oh, oh oh
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah yeah yeah yeah

Love Tinka

You poetry is and always will be worthy of reading, because you can easily reach into the deepest corners of humanity and bring solace to those and laughter to those who need it! Thank you for sharing your many talents and timeless treasures. Take good care and be well.

Somehow I don't think bland is a word I would choose when speaking of your poetry, Ed. I can think of several other adjectives, but will refrain. Love your style, just the same!
Take care,
Sherry

To poem one learns to of his opinions expand,
More than once I have been told to go and pound sand,

Then it sounds to me like you are meeting your poetic objective - getting a reaction - and it doesn't matter whether that reaction is good or bad - your poem has had an effect.

So Poem On, My Friend!

Eddie M, your fascinating and unique style of writing a bit like Yoda keeps you unequaled in the world of poetry... this is a fine example of that. (smile)

I know you well enough to picture you scratching your head now, thinking: 'hmmmmm... did she just slam my writing?' Au contraire, mis ami, not a chance. You ARE unique, in style AND your human being-ness.

You seem to have allowed that lump of yours to enhance what was already an interesting writing style, but I repeat myself... I repeat myself... I repeat myself... BLAM!... byeeeeee katy xox

A poem is to tell a story, a statement, to express a feeling, to modify a scenic imagery...
