...even the Jersey Devil is afraid...

Poem Artwork

From beneath he comes,

Paws he has no thumbs,

He hides in snow, till you do succumb,

Your death dirge in the sound of the drum…

Just a puppy some may say,

Till you are attacked like prey,

If seen you must run with no delay,

Your welcome with him don’t overstay…

He swats you with his paw,

Leaving you quite in awe,

Kisses you with his tongue on your jaw,

Tasting you before he does of you maul…

Fear not, he is here with me,

Sleeping and dreaming his monster dreams,

In his dreams he hears his human scream,

Laughing all the way home, the snow on his coat does gleam…

His companion, that old Jersey Devil, should be afraid - and he should be very nice to him - Who knows what dark sinister thoughts might linger in the mind of the Snow Monster!
