Writing at times becomes onerous for me. And I always question the relevance of what I do in light of how it affects others, or if it imparts life and wisdom.
No matter how I intellectualize it though, I keep writing as a way to purge myself of what is often poured into me liberally. I think that if we didn't write, we would all become Dead Seas.
Poetry is also my balm, as it were, Ed. It relieves stress, acts as a catharsis, helps me get out stifled emotions ... hey, wait a second ... am I talking about poetry, or ... sex? LOL
