To a letter penned by,

de Leon, Ponce,

Wrote this he did from the dead,

You cannot blame him, he is still well read…

He says many things are named after him,

As well many places after him are named,

The inlet and lighthouse in Florida he does claim,

But the rest he says are on his record a stain…

Over his inlet he does flap his angelic wings,

Keeping safe the mariners who transverse it & sing,

He keeps them from harm using multiple strings,

Remembering his days as a mariner, sent by the European Kings…
