Remember those old cars of our youth, they may have barely had heat, but they were fun no matter...e

Poem Artwork

A whunder ran it did,

Never did we look under the engine lid,

Heater did work but more was desired,

Hey, I got ten bucks from the junk yard,

When it was ultimately retired…

It was a purty blue with a yellow band aid,

The paint did for the most part out fade,

Two out of four gears little momentum it made,

Each time we rode in her we all prayed…

Though I miss the old wreck,

She was easy to fix, with little modern tech,

She held ten of us from the bar on the way home,

Far did we in this little car roam,

Duck tape did hold on its little chrome…J

When it was ultimately retired…

Where's my half? And you still owe me for that duct tape, too!

I pulled up behind one of those old rear engined Corvairs the other day. WOW! What a bunch of memories that brought back. Things have really changed in the last thirty years. After 29 years of driving the same 1978 Dodge Van, I finally bought me a 2007 Rubicon Unlimited Wrangler this April. Your write brought back memories dude. Rufus ... Woof!

LOL . Karen's comment "Blue Flash"

Well, I'm the silver streak: one on the floor, low maintenance, goooood on gas mileage. LOL Karen's Blue Flash is a four speed. :)

I miss old cars: my best friend has a '71 Dodge Dart Swinger, runs good!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. *Love this poem*

I used to have a car, but no mo'; my car now is (are) my crutches; I call 'em The Blue Flash. LOL Heck, one good thing about 'em: it saves a bundle on gas, and really no maintenance required. :)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

I sure do like the old cars better, but I wouldn't mind having a Hummer....*LOL*

Ahhhh, memories of the car from our youth.
It's a good thing it can't tell stories.
