At least you got to see some fireworks, even though it was provided by Mother Nature! Better'n nothing! And you didn't have to fight traffic; we did, but it wasn't really too bad once we got past the venue or the stop signs on the way home...LOL We saw some beautiful fireworks last night here in Burleson; it was rather short, too short for my liking, but spectacular! Better than last year's! And next Saturday, a week from today, we're seeing more fireworks! So our celebrating isn't over yet!

Sounds like my kind of 4th - and natural fireworks! How cool is that? No heat to contend with, no mosquitoes whining in your ears, no traffic (so no extra $$ spent on gas to get there and back, not to mention idling in traffic) - perfect for me. And free food is ALWAYS good. Count your blessings! Well done!

Sounds like a quiet 4th to me. Here it is fireworks, kids playing in the street tonight setting off fireworks without adult supervision, and picnic of hot dogs, burgers, chips, salads, cake and all. Had a great noisy 4th, but think I'd really like it better on a vacation like you are and a quiet campground.
