She was HOT, but to last she was NOT…

My Second car though very short lived, only two weeks...(the picture is an exact copy of my little girl)

Poem Artwork

Bright red with a white racing stripe,

Exhaust of the dual variety pipe,

Rumbled she did with her 302,

And 411 rear gears,

Long though she did not last,

But damn she was fast…

One night got drunk with a friend,

Southern comfort & beer chasers,

On an S-curve she met her end,

There against trees I did waste her…

The drivers side destroyed,

I walked away unhurt in a void,

Called the police from a local home,

No longer was that Ford Torino GT with me to roam…

I had a Torino with a 302...but twenty-five years after she was new. Good ride, but a gas hog.

Cheers,
Dan

Count it a blessing that you walked away unhurt. This could have been worse. Never drink and drive!

Beautiful car, so bad it happened to be lost in a crash. My Tom crashed his car in the 60's and never did drive again. Rolled it over on a back road. Lucky to get out alive and really scared him. I did not know him then but he told me all about it many times. Never forgot it and let me do the driving while he lived. But of course, he was a front seat driver. I always drove too fast for him and he'd say SLOW IT dOWN, lOIS.

Too sad, but I hope it served to teach you a lesson, since you lived to talk about it ,you must have something Creator still wants you to fulfill...ET

Ah yes, the Torino, Ford's nod to the Mexification of American autos.... Ranchero, El Camino, Toronado, etc What ever happened to Indian chiefs like Pontiac and Buick?

Sorry you lost her, but drinking and driving ain't funny.

Ron
